Hello!
I’d like to talk to someone about the resources listed on your website.
Thanks so much!
What is it you want to know. Send me an email. If you are wanting to add one we have so many already that I’m not adding any more a the present time. Margie
I’m a survivor of sexual, physical, mental abuse. Later on self-destruction through Toxic Abuses. Much older now, & I know the personal pain that abuse causes in life. It will completely change a child, who they are, & yet to become. Any abuse of any kind changes a person completely . I just avoided dealing with it directly for many years. I recently started turning those trauma’s into knowledge for empowerment. I am grateful to stand for and create change. Voices must be heard.
Hi Angela,
I am so, so sorry for the pain you have gone through. Yes, it does change people and voices must be heard. Thank you for responding. Margie
Hi.’I’m looking for a support group. I live in the northwest suburbs of Minneapolis- near Maple Grove. Is there a nearby group I can join? Please help!
Hi Jen,
Thank you for contacting the Lamplighters. Unfortunately we don’t have any chapters in Minneapolis only in Champlin, International Falls (where I was born) and Monticello. I have 2 other suggestions. Call your phone operator to find the phone # for the nearest Codependents Anonymous chapter. It’s a 12 step program that helped me a lot while I was in recovery. Attend at least six of their meetings. Something magical happens by then. You realize you are in the right place. I would also recommend looking on our website under the book pages for the page on Repair Your Life as well as the page on the program. There’s a lot of help available on my website so you might spend some time looking it over. The REPAIR program took me from being married to my 3rd abuser, suicidal, a sex addict and living part time in a women’s shelter to being the happiest person I know. So I would definitely encourage you to get the book and start working the program. It is now in its second edition with two new chapters and a Forward written by Dr. Vincent Felitti who co-authored the ACE Study. Type in “the ace study” under Google and it will take you to more than one site that explains what they are doing. I knew Dr. Felitti during his ground breaking work and it is phenomenal.
If I can help in any other way please email me at margie@thelamplighters.org. I’m here to listen if you need to talk. Margie
Hello again,

I am actually delighted to read this website posts which carries lots
of useful facts, thanks for providing these statistics.
You’re welcome.
I have seen posters occasionally in my area for a lamplighter group. At the library in Cottonwood, Az but there is no listing of it on your sight. Im wondering if you can find out for me if there is a group near me. Thanks.
Hi Liz,
I am so sorry but we no longer have a chapter in Cottonwood. I tried for years to get one together to meet at the library and it just wasn’t working. I finally decided that the library might need the space as all I was doing was sitting and waiting. I can’t remember over the years all the places where I had it posted so probably missed pulling some down.

If you decide to enlist the aid of a therapist make sure they either have a history of child sexual abuse themselves or that they have been working in that field. You have the right to interview your potential therapist. I’m here to help you if you have any questions or need help in any way especially by telling your story. That, the lancing of the wound, is the first step towards wellness. A shared sorrow is a sorrow halved and a shared joy is a joy doubled.
Again, I apologize for the confusion. Let me know if I can help in any other way.
Margie
